The SCI-SPORT voodoo floss compression bands in natural latex are particularly suitable for all athletes seeking to work and improve their joint mobility and reduce joint pain. They can also be used to cause partial vascular occlusion for gains in muscle hypertrophy during training with light loads.

The SCI-SPORT Voodoo floss elastic bands are sold in pairs. Each band is approximately 2.15 m long and 5 cm wide.

What to do with these bands ?

Mobility is the joint and muscular ability to produce movement of the greatest possible anatomical range of motion with effective motor control that ensures stability and limits compensation. Because of trauma, workouts or bad positions, the body tends to adopt bad patterns of movement and some joint restrictions may appear which will further limit the range of motion. However, traditional stretching will not help at this level.

SCI-SPORT Floss (or Voodoo) natural latex elastic bands are placed on the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle joints and provide targeted compression of the joint causing an unglue of the connective tissue through the blood flow allowed during removal of the band.

They can also be used for vascular occlusion work to develop muscle hypertrophy. Indeed, it is scientifically demonstrated that training with partial vascular occlusion with relatively low loads (between 20 to 35% of the 1RM) allows significant gain in hypertrophy similar, or even higher than that obtained with heavy loads. It is therefore an interesting alternative for the gain of muscle mass coupled with a training with light elastic band (resistances XS and S).

"Floss", what is it?

Unlike roller massage, the technique of compression of the joints allows to work on the desired joint while mobilizing in its normal range of motion (flexion / extension of the elbow or knee, for example). This work takes only a few minutes and can add an effective solution to gain mobility and treat some joint pain.

Partial vascular occlusion, what for?

The partial vascular occlusion (or Blood Flow Restriction) method is a training method based on training with relatively low loads (20-35% of 1RM) while partially decreasing proximal limb blood flow. That is, the band is usually placed at the level of the upper arm, or at the top of the thigh.

For decades, many scientific studies have demonstrated the benefits of this method on strength gain and muscle hypertrophy, without lifting heavy loads and thus protecting the joints from a greater mechanical stress (We will release very soon a complete review on this method).

Not only are gains seen in the distal muscles (biceps, triceps, quadriceps, hamstrings) but some studies show that these gains can also benefit pre-occlusal muscles such as the pectoralis major, latissimus dorsi, deltoids, glutes, etc.


When using VooDoo Floss compression bands, if you feel tingling and / or the skin color becomes white, it is imperative to remove the bands immediately.
